About the Course
This enhanced two days, limited enrollment course is ideal for Registered Dental Hygienists and Certified Level II Dental Assistants who wish to gain experience or improve their skills in the field of orthodontics. The lectures will be interspersed with supervised hands-on components on models in a classroom style setting.
Learning Objectives
Develop an understanding of dental hygiene/assistant Scope of Practice for orthodontics
Ergonomics and its importance
Learn the terminology and inventory in relation to orthodontics
Learn to take the proper orthodontic records
Learn the components of orthodontics and understand the principles of proper and efficient placement of brackets and bands
Wire sequencing, ligation, auxiliaries and other orthodontic adjustment procedures
Learn the debonding procedure and fixed retainers placement
Learn to place the attachments for Clear Aligners therapy
