  • Dr. Agrawal earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the prestigious School of Dentistry in India. Following his dental training, he pursued specialized training in orthodontics, completing a rigorous residency program. During his residency, Dr. Agrawal developed a keen interest in teaching and research, which laid the foundation for his future career path.

  • After obtaining his Masters of Science (MS) degree in orthodontics, Dr. Agrawal served at a few renowned university departments of orthodontics.

  • He moved to Ontario in 2017 in pursuit of high orthodontic standards. With his clinical excellence and fundamental knowledge, he achieved his Canadian General Practitioner license (DDS) in as little as one year. He is licensed by The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

  • Orthodontics offers Dr. Agrawal opportunities for professional growth, continuing education, and collaboration with dental specialists. With continuing education, he can expand his skills, stay updated with the latest advancements, and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations to provide comprehensive patient care.

Bio:

Reefa McDoom has been a practicing dental hygienist in the city of Toronto for over 30 years. She is currently the Restorative Dental Hygienist in a Midtown specialty practice dividing her time between restorative and perio. She has lectured locally and internationally and is devoted to education and volunteer. She is a member of the ‘Build Your Smile Dental Foundation’ which provides dental treatments for Toronto shelters and in underserved rural areas, and internationally.

Oral Bacterial Invasion: Killing Bacteria That Cause Infection and Disease

Description: What are the 2 ingredients we need to create an infection? Bacteria and a host. In this course we will use the power of fun to discover how to identify bacteria that are causing periodontal infections, how to exterminate bacteria and how to best support our host immune response. Roll up your sleeves and be prepared to learn about bacterial testing, Guided Biofilm Therapy and adjuncts for patient’s home support.

The Oral-Systemic Link: The Hygiene-Medical Connection

Description:  The dental hygienist is the first responder in combating oral disease and its systemic consequences. This is a tremendous responsibility.

Periodontal disease is chronic inflammation unchecked. What is the sequence? This program will explain and clarify the downward spiral of periodontal disease—from beneficial acute inflammatory response to chronic unresolved inflammation with its direct impact on systemic health.

 

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the progression of periodontal disease from a clinical, cellular, and biochemical focus

  • Discover the local/systemic link pathway between periodontal disease and the inflammatory diseases of aging

  • Identify the criteria for the ideal biomarker to monitor oral inflammation

  • Learn about a simple new chairside salivary test to measure oral inflammation and evaluate treatment success

Dr. Fay Goldstep has lectured extensively on Proactive/Minimal Intervention Dentistry, Soft-Tissue Lasers, Bioactive Dental Materials and Oral /Systemic Health. She has been a contributing author to four textbooks and has published more than 100 articles. Dr Goldstep sits on the editorial boards of Oral Health Journal, Dental Tribune US Edition, Dental Asia and REALITY. She has been listed as one of the leaders in continuing education by Dentistry Today since 2002. Dr. Goldstep is a consultant to a number of dental companies.
